C2E2 2013 Post Mortem

In a word...WOW! C2E2 was a blast! This was the most creatively fulfilling show I have ever done. Lots of nice folks stopped by the table and bought Franklin comics, sketches, prints, or paintings. Thank you to ALL for coming by and supporting little old me. It is truly appreciated :)

I have a few new projects that are coming up as a direct result of being at C2E2 and meeting some cool people. I won't spoil the surprises just yet, but I am stoked to be a part of these projects.

My next convention appearance will be SpringCon in Minnesota, May 18-19. I'll have Franklin comics, paintings, sketches, and some prints available. Possibly a new print. Something very fun and nostalgic.  Maybe even a few "11 Doctors" Doctor Who Prints.

C2E2!

With C2E2 just over a week away, I thought I should give you all a rundown  of my plans for the show. You can find me in Artist Alley at table L6B peddling my wares. Well, you can find me there when I'm not "stalking" Adam West and Burt Ward (Gah! I'm going to meet Batman and Robin!). here is the list of what I'll have available at my table.

-Franklin comics! The main attraction at my table. I'll have a new printing of Franklin Goes To School and the newest issue, It's A Very Franklin Winter Special. $4 each. Any comic purchase gets you a free quick Franklin sketch.

-Prints! I have 2 new prints for C2E2.

The Franklin and Friends Superman and Batman prints are both 17x5.5 and are printed on heavy duty cardstock. $3 each or both for $5.

 

I have a few Big Bang Theory prints left. $5 each while they last.

 

I'll also have 10-Doctor Who 3 packs available. These are the last of my "Eleven Doctors" prints with the 10th and 11th Doctor prints thrown in. All Prints are on 11x17 heavy duty cardstock. $10 per pack.

 

-Sketches! I'll have 2 different types of sketches available this year. Pre-made sketches will be available and I'll be taking request all weekend.

 

Little Folks sketches (as seen above) are $3. Any character you want. These usually take about 5-10 minutes to draw.

 

 

Full figure sketches (with a small amount of background) are $10. Any character you want.

 

-Paintings!

 

All paintings are created using acrylic paints. 5x7 paintings are $15, or 2 for $25. Larger format paintings (ranging in size from 12x16 and 10x20) are $45.

 

So if you happen to be at C2E2 stop on by the table, say "hi" and buy some Franklin comics :)

 

Also! Make sure to stop by the Aw Yeah Comics booth and buy the first 2 issues of Aw Yeah Comics. I'm one of the many artists contributing some short stories to this series, and while my stories aren't in these first 2 issues you should totally support this awesome, all-ages series.

This Saturday, March 23, I will be signing at Aw Yeah Comics in beautiful downtown Skokie, IL celebrating their 1 year anniversary in business. Aw Yeah Comics is a fantastic store with a great vibe and welcomes readers of ALL ages. You will love this store the moment you enter.  I'll be on hand from 2-4pm signing copies of my new book, It's A Very Franklin Winter Special. I'll also be doing quick, free Franklin sketches for any kid that wants one. FREE!

World's Finest

My 2 convention prints this year feature the cast of Franklin dressed up as some familiar characters. Both are 17x5.5 and are printed on heavy duty card stock. These were a ton of fun to make. I hope you all dig them :)

It's ALIVE!

I'm back, BABY! It has been a long time since I last posted, but a lot has happened in those 2 months. Most importantly...The newest issue of Franklin was finished! It's A Very Franklin Winter Special is printed and in my hands! I'm very happy with the finished product.

 

 

The first place to get your hands on this awesome all-ages comic will be at Aw Yeah Comics in beautiful Skokie, Illinois. I'll be one of the many creators signing in store during their 1 Year Anniversary party. I'll be there Saturday, March 23 from 2-4 pm. I'm super excited and honored to be part of the festivities. Come on down, have a few laughs, and buy some comics! Aw Yeah Comics is a fantastic store that does a great job of being open to readers of ALL ages. We need more comic stores like Aw Yeah Comics.

 

I'll still be posting pages for FREE over at the Franklin comic website. That should not discourage you from buying a physical copy, though ;)

 

Here is a special "behind the curtain" moment. My daughter Lorelei holding a copy of It's A Very Franklin Winter Special. Lorelei is the inspiration and model for Rory in the Franklin comics. She is VERY aware of her part in the book. In fact, she thinks by being in the book she somehow has creative control over her character...what a little diva!
